Description
The City of Ionia is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Income Tax Clerk. Duties include auditing and posting income tax returns, posting payments, entering tax forms performing compliance activities and assisting the public.
Requirements
Position reports to the Finance Director/Treasurer. Requires graduation from high school; Associate’s Degree in business or related field is preferred. Minimum experience of one year in an office environment required; two or more years preferred. Proficiency with computers and performing tax calculations also necessary. Starting wage: $25.45/hr., after one year, $29.13/hr. Includes health insurance, retirement and paid time off; all compensation and fringe benefits in accordance with AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. In addition, appointment to this position on a permanent basis is contingent upon successful completion of the required training period.
