Description
JOB DESCRIPTION (Training Provided):
Work will be performed outside in all-weather conditions, and at times in extreme conditions, maintaining the city’s water/sewer infrastructure. Yes, you will get dirty.
Work will be mainly in the Water/Sewer Division, but will also be expected to assist in all City work, including emergencies, grass cutting, snow plowing, tree trim/takedown…etc.
Duties will include but not be limited to with Training Provided:
Driving/Operating a variety of vehicles…such as…Pick-up, Dump Trucks, Vactor Trucks, Vans, Backhoes, Loaders, Pull Trailers, and operate a variety of hand tools and small engine equipment…etc.
Water and Sewer Main Repairs, Meter Reading, Hydrant Operation/Repair/Replace, Manhole Replacement/Rebuilds, Concrete Repair, Landscape Restorations, and perform general maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Interaction with the public, entering private homes using good discretion.
Be able to work alone or in a team…while maintaining a safe work environment.
Completing work records and time sheets daily and on time.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school or G.E.D. equivalent.
Michigan CDL license with B Endorsement.
Tanker Endorsement (within 6 months).
Able to pass physical, background and drug screenings.
Maintain reliable attendance.
Able to perform manual labor.
Able to respond to after-hour call-ins/emergencies (24/7).
Able to work professionally and support co-workers, supervision, and the public, even in stressful situations.
Be willing to be trained and cross-trained in other departments.
Be willing to obtain S-Certifications.
